Present Perfect Continuous Tense

                    ✅ Definition 


The Present Perfect Continuous Tense is used to describe an action that started in the past and is still continuing or has recently stopped, but its effect is still visible in the present.

> ऐसा कार्य जो अतीत में शुरू हुआ था और अभी भी चल रहा है या अभी-अभी रुका है, लेकिन उसका प्रभाव वर्तमान में है।



✍️ Examples with Hindi–English Translation with Rules :


✅ 1. Affirmative Sentences


He / She / It / Ram has been working


I / We / You / They have been playing



Since – exact point of time (e.g., 5 AM, Monday, 2010)



For – duration of time (e.g., 2 hours, 3 days, 5 years)


Structure:


👉 Subject + has/have + been + V1 + ing + (since/for time)


I have been studying since morning.

मैं सुबह से पढ़ाई कर रहा हूँ।


She has been working here for five years.

वह यहाँ पाँच साल से काम कर रही है


They have been playing cricket for 2 hours.

वे दो घंटे से क्रिकेट खेल रहे हैं।


We have been waiting for you.

हम तुम्हारा इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं।


He has been learning English since 2020.

 वह 2020 से अंग्रेज़ी सीख रहा है।

Structure:


👉 Subject + has/have + not + been + V1 + ing + (since/for time


I have not been feeling well for a few days.

मैं कुछ दिनों से ठीक महसूस नहीं कर रहा हूँ।


She has not been attending classes since Monday.

 वह सोमवार से कक्षाओं में नहीं आ रही है


They have not been talking to each other.

वे एक-दूसरे से बात नहीं कर रहे हैं।

👉 Has/Have + Subject + been + V1 + ing + (since/for time)?


Have you been studying for the exam?

क्या तुम परीक्षा के लिए पढ़ाई कर रहे हो?


Has he been working since morning?

 क्या वह सुबह से काम कर रहा है?.


Have they been living here for a long time? क्या वे यहाँ लंबे समय से रह रहे हैं?


Has it been raining since night? क्या रात से बारिश हो रही है?

Why have they been waiting for so long?

3. कहाँ (Where)



तुम इतनी देर से कहाँ काम कर रहे हो?

Where have you been working for so long?


वह कहाँ खेल रहा है दोपहर से?

4. कब से / कितनी देर से (Since when / How long)



तुम कितनी देर से पढ़ाई कर रहे हो?

How long have you been studying?


वह कब से यहाँ रह रहा है?

वे कितने समय से अंग्रेज़ी बोलने का अभ्यास कर रहे हैं?

5. कौन (Who)


कौन सुबह से गाना गा रहा है?

Who has been singing since morning?


इतने समय से कौन दरवाज़ा खटखटा रहा है?

Who has been knocking at the door for so long?


🧠 Tips to Remember:


WH-word comes first


Followed by has/have + subject + been


Main verb is always in V1 + ing


Use since/for for time reference



📝 Key Notes:


Use "has" for he, she, it, singular nouns.


Use "have" for I, you, we, they, plural nouns.


Use "been" after has/have.


Main verb gets -ing form (present participle).


Use "since" for point of time, "for" for duration.
